Compact cassettes and microcassettes
Family interviews, spoken memories and your own recordings can be transferred from compact audio cassettes and microcassettes. Microcassettes are the small tapes often used in voice recorders. They are different from camcorder tapes and reel-to-reel audio. We do not offer audio reel transfers. Email a picture of the cassette if you need help identifying it.
Downloads and listening formats
A digital download is included. Tell our team if you need MP3 or WAV, or want an audio CD copy, so we can agree the right output for your recording and playback device. An optional physical disc copy set costs £3 per order; USB costs £6 or choose both for £9. Download your files within 30 days and keep a separate backup.
Pricing and tape condition
One cassette costs £10, with automatic audio-category bulk discounts: five cost £45. Contact us before ordering damaged, tangled or unusual tapes. The result depends on the source: conversion does not promise to remove hiss, repair damaged recordings or restore missing sound. Only send recordings you own or have permission to copy.
Post your recordings or arrange a drop-off
Pack each cassette in its case where possible and use a sturdy outer box. Include your order reference. Inbound postage is paid and arranged by you, and UK return postage costs £5.95 per order. Free Sheffield S10 drop-off and collection are by appointment. Typical orders take 3–5 working days from receipt, subject to your cancellation choice; postage is extra time.
